HOME LEARNING FOR
THE CEDARS
I hope you are all keeping safe, but also having fun!
On this page you will find maths, literacy, wellbeing and topical activities that your child can complete for the next few weeks. I know that some children prefer to do maths work in one bulk, and then move on to doing literacy and other practical activities, but feel free to do what you can, in any way that suits your child best.
It needs to be said that this is a home learning pack…not a home teaching pack. I do not expect parents to suddenly become teachers and teach their children new concepts and skills. This packs is here to keep your child focused on their learning and support the skills they have already practiced in school to ensure they do not forget the fantastic skills they have already achieved.
There are a handful of things that I would like your child to keep on practising throughout these unprecedented circumstances: their times tables, their spelling and their reading. It goes without saying that reading is one of the most important hobbies that your child can take part in. Reading is like exercise for the brain: it improves functioning of the brain, it improves your child’s breadth of vocabulary, it sharpens memory and improves your child’s knowledge.
I would like to personally thank you for your continued support during these difficult times. We are here to support you in any way we can. If you have any queries, please use the “Contact Us” page on the school website and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
